AmeriCorps Legal Advocates of Massachusetts Program Coordinator

Julia Garvey is the AmeriCorps Legal Advocates of Massachusetts Program Coordinator. Julia served for the past two years as an AmeriCorps member in Boston Public Schools with College Advising Corps – Boston University. In that role, she supported over 120 low-income, first-generation seniors each year with the college admissions process, financial aid advising, and other post-secondary pathways. Julia holds a BA in Political Science from Western New England University and a MA in Urban Affairs from Boston University. Throughout her college career, she interned with the U.S. District Court and various political campaigns and worked as a law clerk. Julia also volunteered with Community Legal Aid’s Lawyer for a Day program in her home city of Springfield. She brings experience in communications, data collection and analysis, and mentorship to her role.
